Intronaut’s Danny Walker Spins a Drum Web With “Fast Worms”

Intronaut‘s great new album The Direction of Last Things made my 2015 year-end list for a number of reasons, one of which being Danny Walker’s drum performance – which may be his most subtle, restrained work to date. In an album brimming with ideas, Walker is as excitable as ever, exercising a control over the drums rarely seen in this genre. Last Things also has a bit more of a raw feeling, owing to the band having recorded the basic tracks live together, in one room.

The band have been bringing that energy to the stage on their current support tour behind Between the Buried and Me, a sampling of which you can catch below, in Danny’s live playthrough of “Fast Worms.” Real shit. Check it out:

Intronaut’s tour with BTBAM, Enslaved, and Native Construct wraps up this week. Catch em at one of the following dates:

December 15: New York, NY — Irving Plaza (tickets)
