Your First Gear: Part 2 – w/BAPTISTS, CODE ORANGE, KEN MODE and MORE!

Any musician who’s played for any significant period of time will likely get pretty nostalgic about their first musical instrument or piece of gear, despite possibly thinking (or knowing) that it was a terrible piece of shit.

So we got nostalgic with Baptists, Mutoid Man, Code Orange, KEN Mode, Mantar, Coliseum, Full of Hell, Von Hertzen Brothers, and Harm’s Way. The results aren’t exactly surprising, but it sure is fun hearing the humble beginnings of some great musicians. In fact, none of these guys started with anything really nice, which I think says something very important – if you want to do it, it doesn’t really matter what you do it with. You make it work, and the struggle is what makes you great.

As Editor-in-Chief of Gear Gods, I've been feeding your sick instrument fetishism and trying unsuccessfully to hide my own since 2013. I studied music on both coasts (Berklee and SSU) and now I'm just trying to put my degree to some use. That's a music degree, not an English one. I'm sure you noticed.
