NAMM 2015 – YVETTE YOUNG Interview + Performance

Yvette Young is an extended range guitarist of a different sort. She plays her Strandberg Boden 7 string more like a piano than a guitar, and better than most. She possesses a unique compositional style and the skill to perform those compositions even under the stressful and less-than-ideal circumstances of the NAMM show floor (evidence to follow).

After seeing her perform at the Strandberg booth at NAMM, we interviewed her on the spot about her many talents, her new guitar, and where she finds the time.

As Editor-in-Chief of Gear Gods, I've been feeding your sick instrument fetishism and trying unsuccessfully to hide my own since 2013. I studied music on both coasts (Berklee and SSU) and now I'm just trying to put my degree to some use. That's a music degree, not an English one. I'm sure you noticed.
