This Maniac Put Drum Triggers on His Guitar – The Results Are Priceless

I feel like this is the appropriate response to people complaining about the use of A) triggered drums and B) programmed drums.

This dude, apparently named Pensen Paletti, has posted a YouTube video of his crazy mashup instrument, which appears to be a Yamaha acoustic guitar modified with a set of drum pads on the pickguard, and has garnered over 300,000 hits in less than a week. Though his performance is less than a minute long, you’ll quickly see why it’s gotten so much attention in such a short period of time.

Not only is he playing the guitar and a drum beat simultaneously, at one point he kicks on an effects pedal and suddenly his guitar gets some distortion and an added bass doubling, all without missing a beat. No clues as to why his device is called the Bumm-Gitarre, but I’m sure during the upcoming late-night talk show circuit I can only assume is coming he’ll shed some light for us.

Bravo to you, mad scientist Paletti. Can’t wait to see more of this!

Damn catchy song, too. Here it is live:

As Editor-in-Chief of Gear Gods, I've been feeding your sick instrument fetishism and trying unsuccessfully to hide my own since 2013. I studied music on both coasts (Berklee and SSU) and now I'm just trying to put my degree to some use. That's a music degree, not an English one. I'm sure you noticed.
