More has always been – and will always be – more, so Gear Gods has a second exclusive TesseracT performance to tickle your testes (breasties?) with. Coming hot off the heels of “Hexes” that was premiered last week, “Phoenix” is an additional take from Polaris that was recorded live at Metropolis Studios in the UK.
Bassist Amos Williams shared his thoughts on the adventure:
For the last few years we have been scattered throughout the globe, unable to really play as a group except on stage. You can rehearse as an individual all you like, but sometimes a song just doesn’t click until you are performing as a unit. As that is how we hear TesseracT, as one instrument, with many harmonics and overtones that creates something greater than the sum of its parts. ‘Phoenix’ is definitely one of those songs. It is almost as if when the song is relatively straightforward like ‘Phoenix,’ it is harder to put together. It was a joy to spend an hour or so focusing upon this track and getting it to gel as is often said. And to do it in such an inspiring place as Metropolis, too.
What can be said about TesseracT that hasn’t already been? These gents play some of the finest futuristic rock and roll out there, and it’s a real treat to see them pull it off in such an intimate studio setting. For a louder and rowdier experience, you can catch them touring with Megadeth, Meshuggah, and Lillake, or on a handful of headliners as well.
