I have a strong hunch that Matt Garstka of Animals As Leaders practices hard and often— definitely with a metronome. Matt gave a special performance using his signature set at the Vic Firth factory in Newport, ME. He’s literally tearing part that kit with his eyes closed! You can hear the workers’ astonishment captured on the drum mics too— quite the feat.
